PGW joined the Phillies and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) to kick off this year’s Home Runs for Trees program for the eighth year in a row.

Employees teamed up with volunteers from local environmental group U.C. Green to plant 215 trees in Malcolm X Park in West Philadelphia.

Home Runs for Trees plants a tree in a local park, urban setting or watershed area every time a Phillies player hits a home run during the season.

Trees provide shade, block noise, and make life sustaining oxygen. We’re looking forward to the start of next season in March and planting more trees.
