Across the nation, natural gas utilities are dedicating a significant amount of time and effort to reduce emissions by utilizing the abundance of natural gas in a sustainable, environmental conscious and innovate way.
Here is something else that gives us pride. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), “greenhouse gas emissions from natural gas distribution systems have decreased even as the size of the system has grown significantly. Methane emissions from distribution systems were 11.9 MMTe in 2017, a decline of 73 percent from 1990 levels. This drop occurred even as the industry added nearly 760,000 miles of distribution mains and services to serve 20 million more customers.
